Happy Hearts Day!!!

Valentines Day - perhaps the most ambivalent holiday on the calendar!  Love it?  Hate it?  Feeling a little lukewarm?

Eddie Dale and I "celebrated" a little early.  We had plans for dinner with friends on Saturday....so, we sort of celebrated then.  And, I had a closing yesterday, so we went out for dinner again last night and that was sort of a celebration.....

I think we're kinda pooped out on making a fuss over it this year.  I do have to say, though, that my sweetie did come through with the traditional roses on Saturday afternoon.  He made a quick run to the grocery store while I was working on the closet project and came home with these.....

Although they were already a bit weathered (the greenery was completely dried out and brittle), we salvaged the roses and put them in the living room to enjoy for a few days.  I love the deep red in the afternoon sun.....

Good job, Eddie Dale!

Wishing you all much love, happiness and fulfillment on this Valentines Day!

  2. We celebrate Valentine's Day differently every year. Usually flowers or a dinner out, not a huge deal. This day is a reminder to never take those we love for granted and to say I love you to all of those special people in our lives that are there when we need them most. Last night my husband surprised me with tickets to fly to Paris for our 30th wedding anniversary. I am smitten ;) and told him he will never be able to top that one!

  3. What a guy! He is certainly a keeper! Roses are always right, always the perfect gift. Congrats on the closing! What a great day you had.

  4. We had homemade pizzas and cake at home. We always sit in the dining room and eat by candlelight. That is about it for us. I hate fighting the crowds in a restaurant and here it always seems to be a set menu for one price. I would rather be cozy with my two favorite people! Jemma and I both got roses from Tom! We are lucky ladies aren't we?
